Who we are

Hacked dAily is a daily cybersecurity news podcast produced with AI by Cytadel Cyber, which is the data controller for this site. For anything in this notice, email hi@hackeddaily.com.

What we collect when you subscribe

When you sign up for the newsletter we store your email address, together with the signup timestamp, the country your connection came from, and your browser's user-agent string. That's the full list: we don't ask for your name and we don't buy or append data from anywhere else.

The record is kept in two places: on our own infrastructure (Cloudflare, who host this site and process the signup), and with Brevo, the email service that delivers the briefing on our behalf. Both act as processors for us; neither uses your address for anything of their own.

What we send and why

Your subscription is the consent we rely on, and it covers one thing: the Hacked dAily briefing and occasional updates about the show. We don't sell or share the list, and we don't send third-party marketing. Withdraw consent any time: every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, or just email us. Once you unsubscribe, sending stops immediately. We keep your subscription record for as long as you're subscribed, and remove your details from our records entirely on request.

Analytics and cookies

Two kinds of analytics run here. The first (Umami) is cookieless: aggregate page counts, no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no profile of you, and it runs for every visitor. The second is Google Analytics, which does use cookies, and only runs them if you accept the consent banner; decline it (or ignore it) and Google sets no cookies. You can change your mind by clearing the site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Listening happens on the podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, SoundCloud), which operate under their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold on you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to or restrict our use of it. Email hi@hackeddaily.com and we'll act on it. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this notice changes materially, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that expands what we do with your data will be announced in the briefing before it takes effect.
